Her Tips: How to Edit Instagram Stories Aesthetically

I have been receiving a lot of questions asking what apps that I use for my Instagram stories. They look like I take a lot of effort on it but actually, not really!

This time I am bringing you to best of the best tips that everyone has been asking on how to create Instagram Stories aesthetically. Pardon me if I never replied your messages asking what apps that I use for editing because I have been keeping and compiling the answers for this blogpost. Nevertheless, it has been a while for me not bumping into my blog but enough with the lead, let’s get to know my Instagram Story designs first if you are not following me on Instagram.

And this is how I designed my Instagram profile to make it more stand out! I made my own cover for Instagram highlights to make it more aesthetic and precisely more professional.

Starting from this Instagram Story, I happened to receive a bunch of questions asking me what app I use and how I edit them. And here goes the answer for your million dollar questions, lucky you for still reading this page!

Step 1: Take Aesthetic Footages

IMG_0492Take the videos from your phone camera. As far as I have experienced, the Instagram Story result gets much better if you take the photo/video first on your phone camera than directly on Instagram camera. Therefore, I ALWAYS take the shots on phone camera first and process them to the apps I am going to reveal further. For videos, you can take 1-3 seconds length but bear in mind, the footages you take should be rich (at least 5-8 footages). Instagram Story allows you to upload 16 seconds video and you better make the most out of it!

Step 2: Compile Them Using Splice App

I used to edit my videos on iMovie but unfortunately I found another effective and efficient app to use where I am also able to edit video vertically. Splice allows you to compile footages as many as you wish with common creative music license that you can freely use anywhere.

Step 3: Add Some Filter Using VSCO X

VSCO has always been a good friend of mine since I started my very first Instagram around 2013. I wrote about VSCO Hacks twice and many of you have also been sending me e-mails to write more.

VSCO is now coming with a brand new feature where it now allows you to add filters for your video. However this feature is currently only available for VSCO X, you need to subscribe for a year which costs around $20 a year. What makes VSCO X different is you can also use every filter including the famous Fujifilm filters. I highly guarantee this is totally worth it for that amount if you are really intrigued to make your contents aesthetic. I usually use FR4 for Instagram Stories by lessening its intensity and brightness then increasing the contrast.

Step 4: Write Content with Unfold

This is basically the one that many of you had been asking but I never answered. I used to edit with Rhonna Collage and Rhonna Designs which I reckon it takes more effort and also a bit pricey since they are both paid app with also paid fonts inside. Unfold allows you to make your Instagram Story to be literally a story, not just taking videos of some random people doing PDA or perhaps just making odd movements showing around the circumstances without specific content. This app is really applicable and I am sure you can hit the nail on the head right away.

Step 5: Post Highlight Covers But Not Being Spammy

IMG_0496

We all know those people who update Instagram Highlight covers and it utterly annoys us the most, well perhaps just me? But I really am annoyed because I have to tap forwards. To not being noisy, delete all of your close friends list and only at least leave one or the ones who do not care if you are being spammy. Upload the Instagram Highlight covers there and none of your regular followers will even notice that you upload them. Well you can thank me later.

For the covers, you simply can google the pictures by putting these keywords ‘ (thing you want to add, e.g: books) tumblr png’. Voila! You will find a lot of cover references that you can easily use.

Finally we have reached the end of this page. I am so happy that I can finally answer this million dollar question from you, I hope this is useful enough for you to enhance the quality of your Instagram Stories. I always see Instagram as a way to brand myself as a person thus I always take every single content that I post seriously because in the end you are going to ask this question to yourself, is your post worth to be shared?

Thanks for bumping into my blog and more tips will be coming right up. Have a great weekend!

7 Photo Editors I Have On My Phone

A cake wouldn’t look pretty without icing, and so is a photo. A photo wouldn’t look beautiful without filter.

I like spending my free time editing pictures on my phone, creating new filters on my own and enjoy the beauty. Besides editing pictures, I absolutely like taking pictures. People think I use SLR/DSLR camera or any other expensive ones because the quality of my posts on instagram look very clear. Actually I only use my old Sony CyberShot Digital Camera with 10.1 megapixel, but I’m still saving to get the new one so I can do vlogging 🙂

Here are my favorite 10 photo editors I use on my phone,

technobuffalocom

VSCOCAM

It must be the most popular one, I think you already know about this one better than me, eh? Tumblr girls mostly use this app for their pictures.

makrdotco

Afterlight

The dusty effect and polaroid frame are the favorite ones from this app. I love the filters but honestly not as much as I do with the filters by vscocam.

theiospostdotsquarespacecom

Snapseed

I think this one more fits with photographers or the ones who tend to use lack of filter or maybe not even use any filters. It’s better to adjust the brightness, contrast, highlights and stuff using snapseed because I think their quality is way higher than any other apps.

PicsArt-iPhone5-2

PicsArt

The most useful one, I think this app is like windows 8 because everything at once. It has a lot of features, such as various filters, stickers, frames, background and many more. I usually edit my pic to get mirror effect with picsart.

fragmentexamples

Fragment

To the ones who like prismatic photo effects, I think this one is good for you.

anightowlblogcom

Rhonna Designs

This one is my favorite to make ads for my giveaway. You can immediately go to this app to add some cool quotes after editing your pic on Fragment, so tumblr!

screen568x568

Polypic

Make amazing and beautiful photos by various polygons! And also, if you want to blur something, this app is the right one. Never thought blurry pictures could be finally called fine art.

So, those are my favorite photo editors I always use to edit my pictures before uploading them on IG. But most of the time, I use VSCOCAM. Kindly follow my instagram ( @pranichia ) to also get the latest updates of stylebychia!
