Going Picnic with JanSport Campus Ambassadors Indonesia!

Hello, Peeps! I am so glad to be back again after a while. Although today is Friday, I just wanted to make up yesterday’s post because seriously, days in uni are getting tense thus I was a bit distracted from blogging and I am really sorry for that. However here I am bringing you another piece of story that I am sure you will be interested if you are intrigued to know about the activity of JanSport Campus Ambassadors Indonesia (JSCA).

This is the second mini gathering of JSCA Indonesia where this time, I was utterly responsible for this vlogging workshop from designing the concept, inviting the speakers, choosing the venue, surveying and coordinating the whole workshop. It might sound too much by words but it was full of fun once you jumped into the field!

As a part of JSCA, you would go for a real life experience in the marketing field. Although my focus in uni is Public Relations and Corporate Communication but that doesn’t stop me from my interest in learning marketing and product branding strategy. Long story short, the vlogging workshop I designed was involving picnic concept in Twin House Cipete. Isn’t it hot in Jakarta? Are you insane? Yes, I am! Hehe!

I really like the picnic ambience which I think really suits well with JanSport’s brand image. Thus after all considerations and approvals, we all decided to say, “Yes, go for it!“. We invited Daniel Shepherd and Melody Amadea to share about their professional experience in vlogging. It is really fun to see that they can make their passion to be a part of their career which I believe it has always been everyone’s goal to achieve in their lifetime experience.

The sunlight was super bright and it almost got our skin burned but thankfully, it was still in the morning thus I reckoned it was a healthy sunlight. I suppose? Nevertheless, the sharing session was fun and we went for brunch break where all the foods were super fancy and delicious. The Full Monty was my favorite!

After the sharing session, all ambassadors were challenged to create a vlog which theme was randomly picked by Melody and Daniel. I was paired with CJ to make a what’s-in-my-bag vlog whilst the others got food reviews and lookbook theme. It was actually quite similar with the previous blogpost I wrote but in the different form. After all the efforts, here is the result that I believe you might want to see,

Sooo, that’s all we had in the second mini gathering of JSCA Indonesia. It was a total great experience to have in a lifetime. Thus if there is another open recruitment for the next batch of JanSport Campus Ambassadors Indonesia, I would highly recommend you to be a part of it. One thing I could learn so far from being JSCA is you need to be brave to explore and voice your thoughts to make it happen. So, that’s all I have for today, I hope this blogpost will make your day more delightful. Have a great day!

Outerwear Which Fits Any Outfit That You Should Have

Hello, Peeps! Welcome back to another post of mine which I made with sincere affection for your weekly preference. I think that sounds hyperbola however I will be showing you some fashion insight which I hope you would love!

As you might have seen on my previous vlog about my very fashion haul and sexual violence, I reckon that you noticed this one of four outers I have.

Already noticed why I love it so much? Awesome! Let me applaud for you.

IMG_2093 2.jpg

This gray knitted outerwear is from Stradivarius. At first I bought it, I felt so unsure because the weather in Jakarta is utterly undeniably hot but the more often I wear it, I started loving it somehow because it always matches with any kind of outfit I wear.

IMG_2091 2.JPG

As I have mentioned in the video that I like wearing sleeveless outfit in the inside, in this outfit I am wearing a black tank top from Cotton On. Since I don’t want it to look that plain, I combined it with a touch of brown leather belt from Uniqlo and a black leather bag from Marc Jacobs.

Ever since I utterly fancy monochromatic outfit, I paired the whole outfit with a white jeans from Dorothy Perkins and a white sandals from VNC that I accidentally bought in Bali because the other one was broken.

Outers can give a huge influence for your outfit from nothing to something. You also can mix and match the old clothes you have in your wardrobe so it won’t stay in dusty space anymore. I hope this article can profoundly inspire your fashion insight for your weekly preference. What kind of outerwear do you like? Thank you so much for reading and have a great day!

Her Journal, lifestyle

VLOG | what kind of dress do you wear?

It took me 8 hours to finish this 8 minutes vlog. I am so drained.

Yet I am super happy! Because this is my very first vlog of Her Journal in 2018. This is also my second time making talk-that-talk kind of vlog since I never felt so comfortable talking in front of the camera but I somehow had the urge to break the silence. In this video, I will be showing you my favorite outers and will be closed with my coming out in regards to sexual violence. Before going farther, check out this vlog below,

That was one of the things which I never wanted to share in the first place yet I thought that we all need to break the silence and here I speak up for the victims. I would love to draw some red line here, there is no legitimate reason of why sexual violence happens and we all should stop starting asking victims with the question, “what kind of dress did you wear?” because if we remain being silent, how would speak for the victims?

I hope this vlog can profoundly inspire you for your weekly preference. I hope you like it and have a great day!

Summer Staycation Experience in Anvaya Beach Resort Bali

Happy Valentine’s Day!

How’s your day so far? Has anyone confessed anything to you? Have you received any chocolates and flowers? Has anyone kissed you? Has anyone sent a sweet text for you? Those little things we do in the Valentine’s Day have become something very usual yet also very traditional.

I am not so sure if people still celebrate Valentine’s Day since in my way of thinking, the whole culture of either finding or maintaining love has changed a lot. Couples in previous generations only had to communicate through letters (or possibly pigeon?) which took 48 hours to be delivered but they mostly had no significant problem with it whilst in this generation, when he has not replied the text within 3 hours we already have that mini anxiety attack because of that tiny read-and-delivered receipt. Well, the world has shifted really far because of the invention and development of technology. Okay, I think I have been pouring my thoughts about modern love too much.

However, speaking of love and Valentine’s Day, I would like to take you to my staycation experience with Anvaya Beach Resort Bali. I stayed there for 3 days and it felt like home already.

Let me welcome you to the balcony of my bedroom. Magnificent view with tiny private pool at front. Anvaya Beach Resort Bali actually has two sides for swimming pool. One near Kuta beach and this one right in front of your screen. This blogpost is not sponsored by Anvaya Beach Resort Bali thus I did not take many pictures in my bedroom and around the hotel because I enjoyed the vibes a little too much.

And here you are in the other side of the pool. You might notice I have been bringing this book everywhere, it is A Work in Progress by Connor Franta which you can find the review here.

I sat on grass under a tree, I truly loved the ambience there though the sunlight was utterly like a demon which burned my skin as you can see that on my wrist. Behind me was a view to Kuta Beach which you could be able to have a walk around Kuta for jet ski, bike, and temporary tattoos. As I described you these things, it made me want to go back there again.

Because I wouldn’t just sit and read, I had to have some snack too because I am always hungry. Well, who doesn’t like to eat? I ordered some nachos, melon juice, and a bottle of coke. The nachos was good but it would have been much better if they added some yogurt, mayo, or cream cheese.

And here I am behind these beautiful aesthetic trees. I really loved hanging out in this pool side because there were so many palm trees that I could post on my Instagram story all the time. They also had nice playlist of Bali traditional songs rather than Pop or RnB musics.

It was an honest review without any intervention of Anvaya Beach Resort Bali. I wrote this blogpost because I was satisfied with the service they gave me while staying in Bali. On a scale 1 to 10, I would give it 9. I don’t give the other one because of the nachos, haha! If you’d like to see more, you can check out my Bali vlog below.

However this resort really works well for those who want to have a little escape for self healing and self loving. I wish this blogpost will profoundly inspire you for your weekly preference. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I think I am going to write more and not only gonna post every weekend thus, stay tuned for more!

Can You Believe This Outfit Has No Brand At All?

Hello, Peeps! Back again with me in the first weekend of February. I hope January treated you well like it did to me. In the last couple of days, I went to meet up some old friends and accompanied my uni friends in Bandung for a staycation.

And right now, I will be showing you an outfit that I accidentally found in my old wardrobe and I also will be telling you a secret that this outfit ain’t from Zara or Massimo Dutti or Sacoor or any other brands you know.

So, I found this black pants that I left in my old dusty wardrobe at home. I was in a rush and there was no pants left for me to wear thus I dag and messed the whole wardrobe then happened to find it in a very good condition.

This is a pants that I forgot where I got it but my sister gave a year ago. This is not a branded one but it is really comfy and somehow still fits in my body. And this is what I call magical!

For the top outfit, I do still remember because I bought it myself in a fashion bazaar. I truly love the tied knot it has in the bottom of the blouse because it really enhances the outfit without trying.

And voila! I matched the two clothings that both have no brand and transformed them into one of the most trending outfit nowadays. How can I do that? I believe this is not an achievement that I don’t need to be proud of but a creativity that I think everyone can be able to try.

If you want to enhance your unbranded outfit, you may mix it up with accessories, shoes, and/or bag from brands that you like and have excellent quality to enhance your outfit.

I decided to enhance my outfit with my favorite sling bag from Guess and a cat eye glasses from New Look. Those little things might look unnecessary but I think that’s how fashion works, add some unnecessary things and rock with them!

Last but not least, my current favorite golden and brown leather bracelets. I got them from The Executive which price is very affordable. Those little things are truly kind of something that I always admire and like to wear.

So, that’s how I spent my weekend in February! And also, I believe you are also waiting for the January Beatitude 2018. Well I hope?

The January Beatitude 2018 will be up tomorrow and get ready for another weekly preference so you can spice up the way you live the life. I hope this blogpost can inspire you that no matter what brand and how expensive the clothes you wear, it depends on how you represent the outfit in front of the others and most of all, how you rock it with confidence. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

What’s In My Bag That I Hope You Don’t Need to See

Welcome to the second blogpost of 2018. You might be wondering why I could be able to write two blogposts in the same weekend whilst you know that I had been gone for almost two months before. Yes, I am currently having a semester break and I am so happy that I can hibernate a little longer!

This time I am going to show you the things I always bring in my daily backpack to go for uni. Moreover I would like to show you the important things you should have there based on my personal experience. But there is one little thing that I hope you don’t need to see.

I prefer to wear backpack because I can bring many things that I want without worrying the amount of things that I need. I would love to show you my very first colorful backpack from JanSport, Pink Digibreak! If you love JanSport bags, click here and get the special offer for all items! Only through that link😱

This backpack is designed for digital stuff where in the compartment part, you can find an internal laptop sleeve which I believe this is every uni students need.

And not only that, the compartment part also has a quite large size thus you can have any other things you need to put in.

And here are my stuffs in the compartment part. These things are very crucial for me to run my days in uni. I often bring my 13″ laptop because I can always work anytime and anywhere I want; a novel or any other books that I can read to distract myself from boredom and reality; a snack like Pocky because I am always hungry; one notebook because I am actually still a traditional student where I still need paper and pen to write things down at class; and last but not least, my tumbler because Starbucks is nearby the campus. Haha!

Now you must be wondering what part is this. Well to be honest I don’t know. Haha! But what I know, it can be useful for a quick pocket where I am in a rush to put things without worrying about the zipper.

And this is the most special one I suppose. The inside of this pocket is very fluffy and I sometimes like to put my hands in there when I feel cold. But this one is actually designed for gadgets like tablets or iPad, phones, or any other digital things thus that’s why the name of this bag is Digibreak.

Well I am just a girl and please excuse my behavior of always bringing make up anywhere. This part is actually designed for any stuff as long as they can fit in.

I usually bring my compact powder, blush on, lip matte, and a small perfume because I am really aware of my appearance and how I smell. When I forget to bring these stuffs, I feel like I am insecure. Haha!

Soo that’s all I got in my bag for daily basis that I hope you don’t need to see but completely need to know. And as you have read about my stuffs, one thing that is really important above all is a notebook and a pen precisely. Why do I think that way?

From a psychological book I once read, it says that our memory stays longer if we write things down in papers rather than typing on the phone. Call me an old fashioned, I still write journal and tell how my day is to it. I do that to rewind a day I pass thus I can always remember every single thing that people do and say. And one legit advice for you is, bring notebook and don’t sleep at class!

I know it takes a bunch of intention to start writing at class but just try to write anything that you hear, from that moment, you are making progress. That’s all I got today for this weekend’s blogpost, I hope this article can profoundly inspire your uni life into something positive. One thing that I can learn is, wear backpack for school, not a sling bag. Have a great weekend!

i think this is my very last blogpost.

twenty-seventeen has almost come to an end in a few hours. You might think I am currently having fun with my friends in the lounge, having some drinks, laughing over the past, and thinking about our 2018 resolutions. No, I am not. I am just sitting here in the middle of the stairs, writing down my very last blogpost which I have thought about for a long time.

But let’s talk about today first, I went out with my high school friends, catching things up and reminiscing the old times. Truth be told, we have been friends since primary school.

This is Abdul, he used to be really chubby and squishy but he has made a lot of transformation.

This is Alin the sweetest, she has always been the same girl next door I have always known.

We had lunch and gelato together. Everything felt wonderful though the weather was crying but it did not hold us to have some gelato precisely.

We talked a lot. Past. Present. Future. Everything in between.

Please do not get me wrong about writing this as my last blogpost, all riddles always have an answer in the end, right? Before everything else, I would like to make a tribute that lasts forever in my memory. A tribute that I went through in 2017 with the amalgam of joy, tears, tense, excitement, or even something that I could not even describe of. I think I would start my tribute from my lifetime passion as content creator, passionate undergraduate student of Public Relations, fashion and travel enthusiast, philanthropist, and myself as myself.

That clips above are the screenshots of my very first episode of #HerJournal. My first episode was super awkward because I did not feel comfortable talking to myself in front of camera. Until now, to be honest. Haha!

2017 is the year where I started my side career in videography. I remember my struggle to get my first mirror less camera by pushing myself to achieve above 3.5 GPA whilst I knew I was completely caught up with many projects and organizations and that was the time where I became super pessimistic. But somehow when it’s meant to be, it will be. I finally got it by my own sweat!

And by that time, I have been keen enough to finally produced some video projects such as #HerJournal vlogs, “Flora and Fauna” visual poetry for Fauna Land Ecopark Ancol, “the words i hope you never have to hear” short documentary film, Clean and Clear Short Ads, Look Book for #LAHI and many more since I am really passionate with filmmaking and also because I like to watch videos of Jay Alvarrez, Sam Kolder, Beautiful Destinations, Connor Franta, I always wish that I can have a great talent like them in time.

Since then, one of the milestones that I have been dreaming of in 2017 has been finally achieved by winning the first best position of Vlogging Class in Clean and Clear because of my short documentary film “the words i hope you never have to hear” and its behind the scene.

I am really glad that my work is slowly being recognized by public and one thing that has led me to become JanSport Campus Ambassador Indonesia from my long night of editing, compiling, and narrating for the video submission. I always have to realize that things happen when we are eager enough to achieve it thus the universe can help us in achieving it.

2017 is also the year where I started to feel my blogging career is slowly recognized. I got my very first fashion show invitation to Jakarta Fashion Week 2018. VIP Class! I was invited by Cotton Ink and they also gave me two pair of clothes which I love the most. These little things are something that I am truly grateful of. From that moment, I have finally become a content contributor for Clean and Clear website where I feel that my writing skill is appreciated again by people.

Not only that, I also remember my very first international internship would be with Development Innovation Insider that produces Change Magazine where my first article about sexual violence is finally published worldwide. Since then, I believe every single thing that you write comes purely from your heart because when your mouth cannot speak, words speak.

2017 is also the witness for my very first experience stepping my feet on the mountain to watch sunrise in Bromo Mountain and my very first time watching Kecak Traditional Dance directly in Uluwatu Temple. Here are some vlogs that you might want to see how I spent my days savoring the beauty of Indonesia.

2017 is the witness of my journey in realizing my attempt to be at least an influential good student in my university. President Model United Nations 2017 would actually be my very last MUN Competition and that was the first time for me to finally realize that you do things for yourself not for anyone, without feeling forced.

But then again about my last MUN competition, who knows that somebody would change my mind eventually? Moreover, I never knew that I actually could fit in to one of the most competitive competition, Unilever Future Leaders’ League 2017. Nobody knows that I spent the whole night without sleeping for the video submission and I am really grateful that I could meet amazing people that have changed the way I see life into something really positive.

Lastly, 2017 is the witness of me growing as myself. I am grateful to meet all of the people I have become friends with in every single year. Regardless they come and go, I will always try to find something that I can learn from them and that is the point where I could slowly shape myself into somebody I hope can be influential for a lot of people.

However, I am wondering what your thoughts are after reading this far. ‘Feeling awed?’ or ‘Oh, Chia is bragging!’ or ‘nothing at all’. I hope you remember I said this earlier,

“all riddles always have an answer in the end, right?”

If you are aware of what I am saying, scroll back up and gather up the red bold sentences. From that, I hope you can fill those sentences with your own words which will be become your 2018 resolutions. Do not feel odd with the past tense I used there. I hope you would proudly say it in the end of 2018 because you have achieved the dreams you have always dreamed of.

Thank you very much for reading this far. I almost finished my 365 pages of 2017 in a few minutes, and I am about to reach the end of the last sentences. And here we go, I am going to close the book and I hope this very last blogpost of 2017 will be giving you power to be very much alive in 2018. Be someone who is passionate in doing what you are doing, no matter what people think about you, you cannot always please everyone in the room. Happy New Year 2018!

Eco-Friendly Outfit Collections in Jakarta Fashion Week 2018

Happy Weekend, Guys! We are almost in the end of October, which means Halloween is on its way to come thought my country does not celebrate Halloween but I love the idea of Horror movies are rolling on Fox Channel. Haha!

So, I was invited by Cotton Ink, a local fashion brand from Indonesia to come to Jakarta Fashion Week 2018 at Grazia Glitz and Glam Show last week. Since I have often heard about Grazia Magazine, it made more excited to see the show.

Since the theme is “Divas in Music”, I was actually going to wear something more colorful but in the end, I decided to go back to my own fashion zone. Monochrome, as always.

I totally love my cape coat I got from Ciel. Although this cape was meant to show my collarbone and arm, since I wear hijab, I wore a blouse with bell sleeve from The Executive and trouser suit from Color Box. To elevate my super monochrome outfit, I wore a chunky necklace I got somewhere in Australia and my all time favorite high heels from Nine West. Not to forget my favorite black and white Tote Bag from Kate Spade New York.

The show should had been started around 5 pm but turned out at 6.30 pm. The delay was super outrageous since there were not seats at all and all guests were somehow wanted to stand, socialize, and drink.

However the long line up was truly worth the wait after the show had been started. The front lines were full with designers and public figures. Most of the people in the tent were mostly invited privately.

First show started with the collection of Rinda Salmun. The gothic style she was inspired from Madonna made the ambience more exciting. I spotted Wulan Guritno in a long white sleeve which covered her hands over there. I loved her make up.

And here are the designs from Kleting Titis Wigati who owns Kle The Label. The shown outfits were the results of Kle’s collaboration with Avani. The woman with big red outer in the first picture is the best look for me!

And here is the one that I have told in the beginning, the collection of Nonita Respati from Purana Indonesia is the one that could show its point of difference. The outerwear itself is made from Cassava bag with quilted sew. These collections were inspired by the look of Gwen Stefani.

Now this is the collection from Cotton Ink. All designs were inspired from Kylie Minogue. Carline Darjanto and Ria Sarwono, as founder of Cotton Ink showed some sleeveless trench outer, ruffle skirt, baby terry dress with bubbly sleeve, and palazzo trouser.

Last but not least, collections from Luna Maya with the collaboration of Hartono Gan were inspired from the look of Beyonce. The show was started with Millane Fernandez’s performance singing “Single Ladies”.

Soo, that was the updates of how fashion has grown so far in Jakarta Fashion Week 2018. Recalling that Climate Change issue has been growing rapidly, sometimes it is good to know that fashion is also taking part in combating the issue by implementing eco-friendly materials.

Which one is your favorite from the collection above? and what would you do to combat climate change? I think the last question is too academical but just share your thoughts in the comment below. Have a great weekend!

September Beatitude 2017

Hello, Guys! I know it is a bit late to share my favorite things of September 2017 but I guess there is nothing too late for goldy things right?

Truthfully I have been quite occupied with works and college. Things have been rolling in like sandstorm in Sahara. Sounds too much? But that is the analogy of my life lately.

September was a really great month so far, many debatable issues which caused conflict between wants and needs. I also had my first trip to Bromo Mountain in Malang for the first time in forever! Merci, September!

This time I am not going to show you about my trip to Bromo Mountain but firstly I would be showing you things that gave me joy the most.

“My heart wandered through the world, constantly seeking after my cure, but the sweet and delicious water of life, had to break through the granite of my heart.”

Ever heard of this line? The Rumi Daybook is a poetry book which has 365 poems and teachings from the beloved Sufi Master. Imagine you can finish the poem one each day. Read and feel the rhymes within your soul and I am pretty sure that is how it works. Each of the poems has its own meaning and implied lesson thus it is good for a little enlightenment for your day.

My most favorite Floppy Beach Hat from H&M. I accidentally found the hat when I was in cashier and saw it got 40% discounts, my heart was pounding, perplexed whether to take it or not but I couldn’t stop the desire and eventually said, “May I take this one too please?”. And that’s how it went. Haha! However I am going to wear this hat for my upcoming vacation to Bali in early November, thus another Look Book is about to come more!

The sophisticated and lovely smell from Wild Argan Oil Body Butter of the Body Shop has always pampered my day. It soothes my skin perfectly could get my skin moisturized in a short time.

Last but not least, a song! Actually I have been keeping up with The Royals TV Series which got me one favorite themed song from it. Speaking of Truth by Laleh. This Swedish singer has a very authentic voice and as I listen to it, I could easily follow the unique rhythm which somehow I could not stop.

Although I am not really sure but I think this song tells about the woman who tries to speak about the truth that she is in love with the man but the man she thinks perfect seems so greedy of love. However, she still wants to be with him. That’s what I assume so far, what do you think?

These are my favorite things in September. What are yours? I hope this October would be a very pleasant month for everyone. However, to make up my delayed post last week, I got something coming right up for you after this post. So, stay tuned! Have a great weekend! 🙂

VSCO Filters That Fashion Bloggers Use On Instagram 2.0

Hello, Instagram Endeavors!

So glad to be back to the weekend realizing today is the second day of September! Yet also, I wanted to celebrate the most hit article with over 11.000 reads on my blog which is VSCO Filters That Fashion Bloggers Use On Instagram. As celebration I finally created another secret VSCO Filters for your weekly reference in building your own aesthetic feed on Instagram. Let’s get started with the first fashion blogger.

Lydia Elisse Emilen (@lydiaemillen)

Lydia has always been my favorite fashion blogger. All of her contents always look very sophisticated. Her feed has a lot of touch of pastels and pinks which brighten the picture she posts on Instagram. Based on my analysis, you may follow her editing skill using VSCO by using these patterns,

Ali Gordon (@aligordon89)

The funny thing is, I really adore this couple. Ali is Lydia’s fiance and they will be getting married shortly and they are such a good pair. Ali has quite orangish and bluish filter on his posts, similar to posts and videos by Mike Visual and Ryan Nangle. If you love the filters that Ali has, you may follow this VSCO patterns below,

Cher Bai (@chermycloset)

Blackish filter that everyone loves and very suits for buildings in Europe which gives a little touch of vintage and medieval. I have always admired Cher’s style and her kinda dark filters give her posts look more sophisticated. If you are interested to have a dark yet look a little bright with pretty high contrast, you may follow this VSCO pattern below,

Sooo, that’s all I have for this weekend! Honestly I have been pretty occupied lately and it kinda got me a bit stressful but I definitely will always try to stick on my schedule to always post every weekend indeed. I am sorry that I had to postpone the August Beatitude 2017 until next weekend but I guarantee I got mesmerizing things that could inspire your weekend. Thank you so much for checking out this post, I hope you like it and it would be a great hit like the previous one. Have a great weekend! Xx
