Beatitude

August Beatitude 2017

August has ended, September just started!

Well, not really started because I should have posted this writing a week earlier however today is the day of August Beatitude 2017! I am so grateful for the things that stepped to my door in the last month, most of the good things happened from the process of getting up from dark times. It might sound melancholic but that’s the thing, good things only happen if you can make your own positive vibes and dare to leave it all behind.

Okay, so I got a few stuff that I am super fond of either they are useful or lovely or even tasty! Let’s get started with the first one,

This handy and super classy-scented perfume by Lanvin has always been my go to in August. I got this Eclat de Fleurs by Lanvin from my sister and I am completely in love with the sort of jasmine scent it has. I only wear this perfume for certain importan occasion.

Ah this is not just a cookie, this is the tastiest cookie from Tokyo that I have ever tasted! This Tokyo Campanella my friend brought has a very tasty chocolate inside and well-crunchy tastes when it slids through your tongue as it crushes between your teeth. Just imagine that, so beautiful, isn’t it?

This is best of the best books I have ever read! Connor Franta never disappoints me with with his arts. Besides, this Note to Self book which writes about self-development through photography, poems, and Connor’s own story has given me positive impacts to be more than just who I am yet always be myself. This book has taught me to grow, learn, and never stop. Until it has made me create this short documentary film, the words i hope you never have to hear.

Catchy song which sounds like the music of Tame Impala but this one is  more like my kind of song. Machine by Tender was once on the Today’s Top Hits at Spotify. I am not really sure whether it is still there but this one is super good to listen to. This song tells about how we are controlled like machine where in the first verse expressed that we love to see our phone whilst we know that nobody cares but for the second verse, I am still trying to interpret the correlation between the first and the second. Hehe! Well I am trying.

That’s all I have for this weekend’s blogpost. I hope you find this article useful and could inspire you as your weekly preference. I have been told by my seniors that recently graduated to savor my time in college and never rush into things. However I guess you can relate to always enjoy every process and always make yourself busy to be a better version of you. What were your favorite things to use in August? Share your thoughts in the comment below because I would love to hear more! Have a great weekend😊

Simple Candy Cake Bar Recipe

Hello! Glad to be back on blogging after the myriad days of war in achieving my bachelor degree. I’m basically having my third semester break right now. However, it’s enough for the highlight of author’s diary because I got something new for you, guys ❤

Do you like to watch cooking tutorial on Instagram? Do you like to follow the steps and do it in your own kitchen? If you do, we are probably twins!

Actually I just followed a one minute cooking tutorial on Instagram, “Candy Cake Bar”. The ingredients are not really specific since they only say ‘a cup of something’ rather than saying it in grams or spoons and the video tutorial is too fast until I had to watch it over and over again. But if you are a cook master, then it won’t be trouble for you. So, I was just predicting the measure but I surely will tell you the specific ingredients to make your cooking experience easier. Before you get started, you better prepare these ingredients below.

1 pack of M&M’s (may be substituted)
1 pack of KitKat (may be substituted)
200 grams of crystal sugar
200 grams of brown sugar
300 grams of flour
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 eggs
225 grams of melted butter

If those things above are ready, you may start with the first step!

Step 1. Pour 1 cup of crystal sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar into a large bowl. Stir it then add 1 cup of melted butter. Don’t pour it when the butter is still hot, let it chill for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 2. Add 2 eggs into the mixed bowl. You better don’t use refrigerated eggs. Stir it until the dough looks brightly yellow. I recommend you to use mixer or you will get tired of stirring it to death.

Step 3. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into the mixed bowl. Keep stirring it then add 2 cups of bowl. Don’t get tired, keep stirring it until the texture looks a bit solid.

Step 4. This is my favorite part. Before everything else but it is up to you whether you want to chop the KitKats later or in the last part, chop the KitKats and spread the candies over the dough. Stir it.

Step 5. Heat the microwave until 350°F / 175°C and bake it for 45 – 50 minutes.

Step 6. Let it chill because if you try to chop it when it’s hot, it is really sticky which could ruin your artsy cake bar. And this is the result,

My kitchen was completely a mess and my hand was full of dough so I couldn’t take a picture of the steps but I am an open-book, if you have questions regarding this recipe, you may comment or email me and I’ll reply right away. This cake bar tastes like caramelized cake because it contains sugar and candies hence the dough becomes sticky. I like to eat it with a hot cup of tea or pure milk as a friend for my reading time in the balcony. Interested to cook it too? It is really easy and it is highly recommended to fill your lovely weekend with your loved ones. Have a great day! ❤

How to Make M&M’s Cookies

“It’s Friday! Friday! Gonna sleep a lot on Friday!”

You can sleep a lot on Friday, but you have to wake up earlier on Saturday because I have m&m’s cookies recipe. I woke up at 7, went to the kitchen and successfully made an explosion of awesomeness. This cookie is really popular on tumblr page because who doesn’t like m&m’s? Let’s get started!

Ingredients :
240 gr wheat flour
20 gr/1 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/4 tsp cornstarch
170 gr unsalted butter
100 gr sugar (I only used brown sugar because I don’t want it get too sweet, so it’s up to you)
120 gr brown sugar
1 egg, at room temperature
1 egg yolk, at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt (you either can add it up or not, it’s not really significant)

Directions (not One Direction) :
– Preheat oven to 170C degrees or around 325F degrees
– Mix wheat flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt in a bowl and set aside
– Stir unsalted butter until it’s delicate. While stirring it, add sugar and keep stirring it until it looks pale. After that, add vanilla extract, 1 egg and 1 egg yolk then stir it
-Add the mixed wheat flour which you have set aside to the mixed unsalted butter
-Stir… Stir… It’s done until it looks dense
-Take one tbsp of the dough and put it on the brass neatly because you’re a chef wanna-be
-Don’t forget to add some space around 1 inch on each cookies
-This is gonna be your favorite part, stick some m&m’s candies on the dough you have put on the brass
-Bake cookies for about 15-17 minutes. But seriously, sometimes cookies will cook faster than we suspect. Because mine got burned when I used stopwatch, what a bad luck. Just keep watching
-When it’s cooked, put it out carefully and you’re done!

Your cookies will look like this or maybe even better. Send your m&m’s cookies picture to stylebychia@yahoo.com to get featured on this page. Good luck my friends 🙂
